Laniakea great attractor, the everything app

Laniakea is rolling out Laniakea OS, a single, app-as-platform experience that pulls messaging, social, shopping, travel, logistics and payments into one gravitational well. The latest builds showcase a dark, high-contrast UI with glassy cards, rounded rails, and oversized, legible typography—from sign-in to checkout.

One identity, many doors

The entry screen makes the strategy obvious: beyond email/password, users can link Apple, Google, Microsoft, Facebook, X, PayPal, Stripe, Mercado Pago, Mercado Libre, Amazon, LinkedIn, Spotify, Discord and more. Laniakea wants to be a federated identity + wallet, so you authenticate and pay without leaving its orbit.

Messaging as the backbone

The Messages hub puts chats, calls and video next to universal search. Threads surface presence, quick call/video actions, timestamps and unread counts; individual conversations keep the composer clean and roomy. Communication isn’t a bolt-on—it’s the spine that ties purchases, bookings and deliveries together.

Profiles that work like dashboards

Profiles split into Fachada, Posts and Relaciones, with filters like Popular, Reciente and Proliferado. Live stats (likes, gifts, followers) sit on big imagery, encouraging creators and brands to publish, sell and engage without hopping between mini-apps.

Social commerce by default

Creation and monetization are always one tap away via the bottom dock (OFERTA, CREAR, Whisper, PERFIL). Posts can be social, shoppable, or both—aligning with Laniakea’s stance that real progress is measured in products and services shipped, not vanity metrics.

Earth: booking that feels native to a feed

The Earth module renders lodging as swipeable, poster-sized stories. Property pages feature full-bleed photos, clear MXN pricing, capacity/amenity icons, and a persistent “Book now” bar for low-friction checkout. The experience borrows from social video—swipe, glance, act—instead of dense tables.

Shooting Stars: logistics in two fields and a tap

Shooting Stars introduces zonal parcel transport. Enter origin/destination, view route and markers, and tap Ordenar. It hints at a broader push to fold offline services (shipping, errands, mobility) into the same identity, chat and payment rails.

Payments: fiat to crypto

Payments are first-class. In addition to traditional methods, the app supports Bitcoin and Ethereum, positioning for regions with rising crypto interest. With major processors visible right on sign-in, the message is simple: use what you already trust, with receipts and status living inside your chats.

Design language: bold, kinetic, legible

Across modules, the app favors big tap targets, rounded containers and tasteful glass-morphism. Pagination dots, swipe gestures and cinematic imagery add motion without hiding essentials—title, price, primary action. On small screens, controls remain reachable and logically grouped.

Why call it an “OS”?

Under the hood, a shared monorepo powers chat, commerce, lodging and logistics with common layers for identity, messaging, search and payments. That lets features ship in lock-step and keeps behaviors consistent: a booking confirms like a message; a shipment notifies like a DM; a purchase appears where you already talk to the seller.

The big bet

The bet is to consolidate daily mobile habits—talking, shopping, booking, moving things—so you don’t context-switch across a dozen apps. If Laniakea can stay fast and trustworthy, it reduces the “app-switching tax” that fragments most workflows.

What to watch next

  • Creator monetization: pay-per-view posts, chat-native storefronts.

  • Checkout depth: installments/flexible payments; on-chain proofs where they help.

  • Service density: more Earth inventory, more Shooting Stars lanes, plus additional local services.

  • Interoperable identity: tighter links to external accounts without forcing you out of the app.

Laniakea is pitching itself as the great attractor of your digital routine: an all-in-one place where messages, purchases, trips and deliveries share the same identity, the same language—and the same bold “Book now” confidence.
