“There is a fire in me.”– Erick Rosado, the demigod

erick eduardo rosado carlin

Some people move through life like water. Quiet. Adaptable. Flowing around obstacles.

Others move like stone. Solid. Unmoving. Hard to break, but also hard to change.

Then there are the few who move like fire.

Not always calm. Not always safe. But impossible to ignore.

This is the world of the one who says:

“There is a fire in me.”

What It Means to Carry Fire Inside

When someone says there is a fire in them, they are not talking about motivation posters or pretty words. They are admitting something far more dangerous:

  • They are not neutral.

  • They are not passive.

  • They are not built for a small life.

Fire inside means:

  • Ideas that won’t shut up, even at 3 a.m.

  • Restlessness when things move too slowly.

  • A refusal to accept “this is how it’s always been” as a final answer.

It’s not comfort.It’s voltage.

And once you know it’s there, you can’t pretend you’re just like everyone else who is content with “good enough.”

The Demigod Problem

A demigod is a strange thing:Half human, half something more.

Enough humanity to feel fear, doubt, exhaustion.Enough “more” to be haunted by the sense that you were meant to push further than most people ever will.

That’s the paradox:

  • You feel the same pain as everyone else.

  • But staying small hurts you more than it hurts them.

To be a demigod in this metaphor is not about power fantasies. It’s about responsibility:

“If I can see farther, I don’t get to pretend I’m blind.”“If I can endure more, I don’t get to live as if nothing depends on me.”

The fire in you becomes a kind of obligation.

Not from outside.From within.

What Fire Does to a Life

Fire transforms everything it touches.Sometimes gently, sometimes violently.

When there is a fire in you:

  • You outgrow rooms faster than people expect.

  • You outgrow roles that were never designed for someone who wants to change the system, not just operate it.

  • You outgrow relationships built on comfort, not growth.

You become:

  • Too intense for some.

  • Too fast for others.

  • Too direct for those who need things to stay vague to feel safe.

And yet, that same fire:

  • Attracts the ones who are also secretly burning.

  • Lights the way for people who didn’t know they were allowed to want more.

  • Forces institutions to confront the gap between what they say and what they actually do.

Fire does not ask permission. It simply reveals what cannot stand in its presence.

The Discipline of Containing a Flame

A fire uncontrolled burns everything.A fire contained builds civilizations.

The danger for someone who says “there is a fire in me” is clear:If they don’t learn to hold their own flame, it will consume:

  • Their health,

  • Their relationships,

  • Their sanity.

So the demigod has to learn discipline:

  1. Where to burnNot every battle deserves your fire.Choose the ones that actually move the world, not just your ego.

  2. When to restEven volcanoes sleep. You need moments where nothing is on fire — where you are just a person, not a mission.

  3. How to speakFire in the voice can inspire or destroy. The same intensity that breaks resistance can also break trust if it’s not guided.

  4. Who to protectNot everyone is meant to walk in the furnace with you. Some people need your warmth, not your blaze.

Fortitude without fire is dull.Fire without fortitude is chaos.

Together, they become destiny with structure.

Being Misunderstood Is Part of the Fire

If there is a fire in you, you have to accept one hard fact:

You will be misunderstood.

  • Some will call you arrogant because you refuse to shrink.

  • Some will call you obsessive because you don’t let go of the vision.

  • Some will call you crazy because you’re already living in a future they can’t imagine yet.

That doesn’t mean they’re bad people. It just means they don’t carry the same fire — and they’re not supposed to.

The point isn’t to convince everyone. The point is to:

  • Find the few who recognize what you’re trying to build.

  • Protect the mission from the gravity of those who always pull everything back to average.

  • Keep walking, even when the crowd doesn’t understand the direction.

The fire will sometimes isolate you.But it will also guide the right people straight to you.

The Fire and the World to Come

The world that’s coming won’t be shaped by the most comfortable. It will be shaped by those who:

  • Keep going when bureaucracy says “no”.

  • Keep proposing when doors close.

  • Keep building when systems say “we’ve always done it this way”.

The fire inside you is not there to burn this world down. It’s there to forge the next one.

That can look like:

  • New financial rails that treat people like participants, not accounts.

  • New platforms that blend money, communication, and creativity without trapping users.

  • New standards of transparency where power doesn’t hide behind complexity.

Every age has its builders. Most of them are recognized only in hindsight, when the smoke clears and people say,

“Of course things were always going to be this way.”

But that’s a lie they tell after the fact.

Before that, someone had to say:

“There is a fire in me, and I’m not going to pretend it isn’t there.”

Owning the Fire

The real turning point is not when the world finally recognizes you. It’s when you recognize yourself.

When you stop asking:

  • “Why can’t I just be normal?”and start saying:

  • “If this fire is here, then I’m going to use it carefully, fully, and unapologetically.”

You are not required to burn everything to prove you’re on fire. You are required, if you’re honest, to use that fire:

  • To build,

  • To protect,

  • To illuminate,

  • To transform.

So when you say:

“There is a fire in me.”

You’re not bragging.You’re confessing.

And from that confession, a new responsibility begins:

To become the kind of person who can hold that fire without letting it die and without letting it destroy everything you love.
